Dr Aldameh MD, was A Professor Ali Al Dameh past chief of General, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery in Tawam Hospital He has received his higher surgical certification in General thoracic, surgical oncology and minimally Invasive surgery in the prestigious Harvard Medical School Department of Surgery , Boston USA in the Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
He received his medical degree from Otago University in New Zealand. He is Certified in Surgery, thoracic Oncology and Thoracic Surgery. Dr Ali has completed an Advanced fellowship in minimally invasive Thoracic and Foregut surgery at Harvard Medical School.
Prior to pursuing his career in Thoracic and upper GI surgery Dr Ali has completed a fellowship in liver , kidney and pancreatic transplantation and has gained extensive experience in managing complex abdominal tumors. He was mentored by US leaders in their field of Thoracic, mediastinal and upper Gastrointestinal Surgery who followed the tradition of pioneers in their fields, including Dr. Pearson in Toronto, Luketich in Pittsburgh, Orringer. He has closely worked with Dr Sugarbaker the late President of the American Association of Thoracic Surgery, Dr Scott Swanson a world leader in VATS surgery and Dr Steve Menzer, an expert in Lung surgery and Esophagectomy in North America.
His main interest include minimally invasive general surgery , trauma, melanoma, surgical oncology, lung cancer, esophageal and gastric surgery, benign acid reflux and hiatal hernia surgery, video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS), lung transplantation, complex tracheal , head and neck surgery and thoracic oncology.
Dr Ali has previously held the position of Chief of Division of Surgical Oncology at Tawam John Hopkins. Dr Ali is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian & American College of Surgeons, Fellow of the American & European society of Thoracic Surgery, Member of the Society of Surgical Oncology, Member of The American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and Member of the Society for the Surgery of the Alimentary tract.
Dr. Ali has been involved in numerous research activities throughout his career in an effort to improve our understanding of cancer early diagnosis and multidispilinary approach. In his 20 year experience, Dr Ali was able to publish more than 30 papers in peer reviewed journals and more than 100 presentations in local, national and international meetings both in clinical and basic sciences Dr Ali is chapter author in prestigious textbooks of surgery including Sabistan Text book of Surgery of The chest.
Dr. Ali is passionate about community outreach, and fervently believes that cancer care and health awareness, coupled with excellence in cancer diagnosis and treatment handled in multidisplinary approach by specialized team, can and will continue to save lives.
