This is the gland that is exaggerated by Lumps. Lumps (tumors) in the parotid gland are frequent and are seen in every age group. They are the outcome of abnormal growth of cells inside the gland, though the accurate reasons for this are not comprehensible. The vast majority (approximately 80%) of these tumors are not cancerous and are called benign tumors. Rarely, on the other hand, some tumors can be cancerous.

Other familiar causes of lumps in the gland include stones in the duct of the gland, which frequently block the flow of saliva. This blockage often gives an increase to infections, which can at times be troublesome. Whatever the cause, still, it is sensible to establish the correct NATURE of the swelling.

The function of the parotid gland is to produce and secrete saliva, a substance that helps break food down so it can be digested properly.

Causes 

Salivary gland tumors are uncommon, occurs in less than 10 percent of all head and neck tumors. The mutations let the cells to grow and split rapidly. The mutated cells persist when other cells would die. The accumulating cells form a tumor that can march into nearby tissue. Cancerous cells can smash off and spread (metastasize) to distant areas of the body.

2. Lack of feeling in part of your face.
3. Muscle weak point on one side of your face.
4. Constant pain in the area of a salivary gland.
5. Difficulty swallowing.
